COMEP Network (Metrosampa consortium)

In 2005 USP began to coordinate a COMEP network installation (Communitary Network for Education and Research), in SP also called as MetroSampa network.

The MetroSampa network is a consortium built upon the premisses of the COMEP/RNP network (http://www.redecomep.rnp.br) with several  research and educational institutions taking part of it.

The main purpose of this consortium is to offer a technological support for the Internet utilization so as to promote a natural cooperation among participant entities, allowing for the utilization of sophisticated applications with high data throughputs.
